The characteristics of the first picture is smooth and silky in texture due to the petals of the rose. Compared to the second where you can see the bumps and roughness of the coral. While in the third picture it is a mixture of both smoothness as well as the unevenness of the tree trunks.

I selected David Carson because of his influence in typography and in the magazine design. Looking up his work I saw an eclectic range of mediums and textures for many of his work. His style is very unique because he created a different level for his work.
